6:50 PM – Thanks once again to those who submitted their work to Spectrum this year, and thanks as well to this year's jury and the assistants who volunteered their time to help today's event run smoothly as it did!

Assistants for the day were (from left): Lazarus Potter, Tracy Crawford, Armen Davis, Lucy Moreno, Gillian Titus, Angela Wheeler, and Arlo Burnett 6:30 PM – It's been a long day! The snow finally stopped some time this afternoon, but the weather didn't put a damper on the event – after lunch, things happened at a rapid-fire tempo as the jury hit their stride in viewing the pieces in the Unpublished category. With every submitted entry having been shown to the jury by 3:15pm, the debates over medal winners could now begin: {SLIDE 691C
Yes... it's still snowing... 11:35 AM – The jury moved along at a pretty steady clip finishing their voting for the Concept Art, Dimensional and Editorial categories. Institutional has just been laid out, and coming up will be a short break for lunch beginning at noon.

Contnuing through midday, Kansas City expects 3"-5" of snow... 8:40 AM – Nobody really expected this... it was almost 70 degrees on Wednesday, and now the city is shoveling itself out from under 3" of snow this morning. The jurors all arrived last night before this miniature blizzard, and the only delays so far have been with those assisting with the judging... Return to the News Page |
