SPECTRUM EXHIBITION RECEPTION & ART OUT LOUD2009-09-15
September 11th was the night for the Spectrum Exhibition opening reception at the Museum of American Illustration in New York City. A percentage of the proceeds from ticket sales that evening will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk in honor of Dave Stevens who lost his battle with leukemia in March of last year.
The Society of Illustrators also hosted an installment of Art Out Loud in conjunction with the Spectrum Exhibition on Saturday, September 12th from 1-5pm. James Gurney, Sam Weber, Charles Vess, Donato Giancola, and Gregory Manchess demonstrated their skills and techniques in the open forum event.
Irene Gallo has been busy taking pictures throughout the weekend (some of which can be seen here) and posting them to her Flickr account when the time permits. We'll also have pictures and video from the event which should be posted on this site as soon as everyone has had a chance to recuperate from the trip back home!

"Charming, sublime, exotic, horrific: a valuable window on the year's fantastic art. In a word, indispensable."
